Increasing CashCourse Visibility on Campus

CashCourse cannot be utilized if it is not seen. Find out how making your CashCourse URL visible around campus and on the internet can increase traffic to your schools' website by reading about Oklahoma State University's success.

New Tool for Marketing CashCourse to Your Students

Getting students' attention is often hard, and convincing them they need to learn about money can be even more difficult. We interviewed 20 schools with the highest traffic to their CashCourse website to find out what they have done to successfully promote CashCourse and financial education to their students. This information was then shared with a marketing specialist who helped us develop the CashCourse Promotion Plan: Your Guide to Making CashCourse a Success at Your School.

The CashCourse Promotion Plan provides step-by-step instructions and covers a variety of techniques, large and small, that you can easily implement on your campus. It also incorporates the free resources we offer such as the Facebook posts and Tweets.

Download the promotion plan here or in the “resources” menu at www.cashcourse.org/login.

To understand how you can make this plan work for you, join us for a webinar on July 19 or July 22 where we will provide an overview of the plan and review CashCourse resources. To enroll in the webinar, visit www.cashcourse.org/home/webinar.

Money Potholes: 10 Things to Avoid Along the Way to Becoming Financially Independent

We have seen an increase in the use of our workshop kits, especially in orientation settings. So, we've added three new topics that we think would be perfect for your next freshman & parent orientations:

  1. “Investing in Yourself: What CashCourse can do for you” - Provides an overview of CashCourse and how financial education can help them.
  2. “Parents: Helping your Student Succeed Financially in College” – Topics that a parent should be talking with their student about before and during college.
  3. “Money Pitfalls” – Overview of financial hazards to avoid (e.g., pay day loans, check cashing outlets, etc.)

You can download these, and our seven other workshop kits, at www.cashcourse.org/login under “school administration” in the “resources” folder.

Amy Hartenstine, director of CashCourse, will be out of the office August – October, on maternity leave. Not to worry, as CashCourse will continue to be available and staff will be on hand to assist you. Any questions or concerns during that time should be directed to Mary Hoch at cashcourse@nefe.org or 303-224-3513.

We are working to update our marketing templates and would like to obtain your feedback on what works and what doesn't work. Take our brief survey – It is very short (only four questions), we promise!

Recent NEFE sponsored research found that college students increasingly seek out financial education as they progress from freshman to senior year. Learn how the cumulative effects of financial education influences college students during our APLUS Webinar. Enroll in the webinar and learn more at www.nefe.org/aplus.
